TikTokers, Habeeb Hazmat, aka Peller; and Elizabeth Amaduo, aka Jarvis, have been in the news in recent times on account of their relationship and respective careers.
Last weekend, Peller won two awards— TikTok Influencer of the Year and Next Gen Influencer of the Year— at the Pulse Influencer Awards, and one of the highlights of the event was when he shared a passionate kiss with his girlfriend, Jarvis. That was after he had dedicated the awards to her.
While some people admired the couple’s show of love, some felt that Jarvis had abandoned her thriving career as an AI skit maker and had reduced herself to just being Peller’s girlfriend.
An X user, @UnkleAyo, had written, “I might get heat for this, but I’ll say it regardless. That Jarvis girl found an untapped niche, was thriving in it, had the entire nation follow with her s**t , only to dump it, reductifying (sic) herself to Iyawo Peller.
“There’s no way you look at it, it just doesn’t make sense. Bro, untapped niches are critically hard to find. To find one, be insanely good at it and thrive is a goldmine. I loved consuming her content. Now the speed with which I scroll past it…”
Evidently not pleased with @UnkleAyo’s analysis, Peller went on an expletive-laden live stream on social media and blasted him for sharing such opinion.
Meanwhile, a former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian, Dee One, was of the opinion that both content creators became successful without the help of anyone, and they don’t need the help of the older generation of celebrities to be relevant. He added that many of the older celebrities are envious of the duo.
Another social media personality felt that there was nothing wrong with the course the young content creators had taken. He claimed that the duo was making more money together than separately.
On her part, Jarvis gave reasons for taking a break from posting her AI-styled contents. The Edo State-born content creator revealed that she had a tooth problem which turned out to be a tumour in her jaw. She said, “Let me tell you people what happened. I was told that I had a tumor. I was thinking it was a tooth problem but the doctor said I had a tumour in my jawline.”
“The last time I went (to the clinic), the doctor (dentist) took something from it to check the tumour before the surgery. I heard the result is out. I just pray it’s not that bad because it’s spoiling my face.”
That AI girl
Named after the Artificial Intelligence character, Just A Rather Intelligent System, in the popular movie, ‘Iron Man’, she also stated that she drew inspiration from a Canadian social media personality named Pinky Doll, who also is known for her AI-themed content. According to her, she took a cue from Pinky Doll’s robotic style and sought to create “something different from what had been seen in Nigeria”.
Over time, the graduate of Accounting from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, has worked with other TikTok creators such as Mr Heelarious and Lord Lamba. She has also featured in movies including ‘A Weekend Away’.
And, that Peller fella
On the other hand, Peller emerged on the scene around 2021 and quickly grew an audience. He currently holds the record of having the highest-viewed streams in Africa with 76,000 views, surpassing his previous record of 60,000 views, which featured popular artiste, Olamide. He was also named the ‘Best Content Creator’ at the Trace Awards and Festival in 2024.
